This is a short and sweet detective tale about the Elves who work towards Christmas. It’s sufficiently detailed for a short story and an ideal length for a quick escape during a tea break, before bed or during a journey.
The only other Christine Verstraete book I’ve read is “Girl Z – My Life as a Teenage Zombie” and as you can imagine it’s very different to this one! I think I’m going to really like this author as she’s not afraid to dive out of her comfort zone and try something new. Both books I’ve read so far have been worlds apart with the same writing skill but completely different characters and stories. There are too many authors out there who stick tight to one genre.
That being said if you write a certain genre because you’re good at it but not so good at other genres, don’t force the story into fruition.
It’s a cute book for a quick read and I’d recommend it to those who perhaps want to read more but don’t have a lot of time on their hands.
